This large basin, located just north of Atlanta, NE and 10 kilometers southwest of Holdrege, Nebraska, is home to the Atlanta Marsh National Wildlife Management Area.

The basin fits the bayWest archetype extremely well, yielding a bearing of ~240 degrees. The fit of numerous Rainwater basins to this archetype is similar to the robust adherence to planform shape seen in the eastern Carolina Bays.
