This pair of bays are found along Qualls Road in Halifax county, NC; I chose the name used here from that association. The bays are presented with the bayCarolina archetype shape, and both were comfortably fitted using the identical orientation of 140.98º.

The Carolina Bay Survey has identified only seven bays within the 1/4º x 1/4º grid element (my slef-named octant). I interpret the sparse bay coverage as being due to the very rugged terrain of the area, where the rim relief is far less than the local topography. This KMZ file will present the survey data for octant 145311.

The Album and KMZ include a Google Streetview of the eastern-most of the two bays as viewed from Qualls Farm Road, looking from rim down into bay on left. The rim can be seen arcing north (to left) a few hundred meters down the road. As usual, one must look carefully to see the gentle expression of a Carolina Bay rim; the LiDAR map 20x vertical exaggeration makes their slopes look much more impressive than they actually are. Their robust adherence to the archetype planform shapes are one aspect that likely will _never_ be resolvable by the human eye from the ground.

Also included is a Google Streetview looking west along Qualls Farm Road, just south of the western bay. Slope up to the right leads to the top of the bay rim near the tree line.
